What to do in an Emergency

Endeavour is not an Emergency Service

If you are experiencing any form of domestic abuse or violence that requires immediate intervention, please make note and follow the advice below.

Know What To Do:

Threat to Safety

In an emergency situation when there is a threat to safety, the police should be contacted on 999. If you dial 999 and you are unable to speak, listen to the operator, tap the handset, press 55. This will alert the operator who will know it is an emergency. If you can say something, say your location. Pressing 55 only works on mobiles and doesn’t allow the police to track your location.

Reporting abuse that is not an emergency

If you need to report any abuse that is not an emergency you should contact Greater Manchester Police on 101. Reporting incidents of domestic abuse to the GMP specialist domestic abuse investigators greatly assists in tackling the problems. The information provided enables the police to identify areas of concern and patterns of behaviour that could lead to the prosecution of offenders and ensures the safety of the victim. Visit www.gmp.police.uk for more information.

National Domestic Abuse Helpline

If you experiencing any form of domestic abuse, you can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline which is free of charge – 0808 2000 247.

The helpline is open 24 hours / 7-days a week.
